Our group was formed in response to the Sandinista revolution which took place in 1979. We have been twinned with Esteli since 1987 and have worked on water supply, sanitation, education and environmental projects.

We deal directly with local people and community groups; this ensures the support of projects which benefit the poorest people. We are part of a network of four European cities twinned with Esteli ( Bielefeld, San Feliu de Llobregat and Delft).

The very direct links we have allow us to bring the issues of development and exploitation to a wider public. In addition to fund-raising events, we organise  education work in Sheffield.
